While not getting much fanfare, Veeva Systems (VEEV) has been one of the top cloud operators during the past few years (the company is actually profitable!) Then again, the firm has the benefit of a focus on the healthcare industry, providing sophisticated CRM offerings. But it also has the advantage of being built on the Salesforce.com (CRM) platform.
Yet there is another player, called Vlocity, that is supercharging the Veeva model. That is, the company is targeting 10 verticals, such as the public sector, communications, media, technology, insurance and healthcare.
“Customers always want customization for their industries,” said David Schmaier, who is the CEO and founder of Vlocity. “Maybe the customer is right?”
